The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

At one time, Jesus was asked by one who was an expert in the law, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" “What is written in the Law?” Jesus answered. "How do you read it?” He replied: "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.”

“You have answered correctly,” said Jesus. "Do this and you will live.” However, the man wanted to excuse himself, so he asked, “And who is my neighbor?”

Jesus then told this parable:

As a man traveled from Jerusalem to Jericho, robbers attacked him, beat him, stripped him, and left him for dead. It just so happened that there was a priest on the road right after him, but when he saw the man, he walked past on the other side. A while later, a Levite followed and did the same thing. A Samaritan (a despised person by Jews) saw the wounded man and had compassion on him. He bandaged his wounds, put him on his own donkey, brought him to an inn, and took care of him there. The innkeeper got the money from the Samaritan the next day, and the Samaritan told him: ‘Take care of him, and when I come back again, I will repay you for whatever you spend more than a fair price.’

Then Jesus asked, “Which of these three do you suppose was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

And the expert in the law answered, saying: "The one who had mercy on him."

He told him, "Go and do likewise.”

Lesson:

True love won’t rule out our ‘neighbor’ just because they are different from us; so are we. Action, not just words, should be caused by compassion.

The Kind Stranger (Luke 10:25-37)

One day, a man asked Jesus, “How can I go to heaven?” Jesus said, “Love God and love others.” But the man asked, “Who counts as ‘others’?”

So Jesus told this story:

A traveler was walking when robbers beat him up and left him hurt on the road.

1. A priest (holy man) walked by but ignored him.

2. A Levite (church helper) also passed by without helping.

3. A Samaritan (a man from a hated group) saw the hurt man and felt sorry for him.

The Samaritan cleaned his wounds, put him on his donkey, took him to a hotel, and even paid for his care.

Jesus asked, “Who was the true neighbor?”

The man answered, “The one who helped.”

Jesus said, “Go and do the same.”

Simple Lesson:

• Help anyone in need, even if they’re different from you.

• Real love means action, not just words.

Entonces Jesús contó esta historia:

Alors Jésus a raconté cette histoire :

Un voyageur marchait quand des voleurs l'ont frappé et l'ont laissé blessé sur le chemin.

2. Un lévite (aide de l'église) est également passé sans aider.

3. Un samaritain (un homme d'un groupe détesté) a vu l'homme blessé et a eu pitié de lui.

Le samaritain a nettoyé ses blessures, l'a mis sur son âne, l'a emmené à un hôtel et a même payé pour ses soins.

Jésus a demandé, “Qui était le vrai voisin?”

L'homme a répondu, “Celui qui a aidé.”

Jésus a dit, “Va et fais de même.”

Leçon Simple :

• Aide quiconque dans le besoin, même s'il est différent de toi.
